The meadow at Cardiff & The Vale Burial Ground is a peaceful, natural place. Somewhere special to spend time listening to the birdsong in the surrounding woodland and taking in the fine views that stretch across the Vale of Glamorgan and Bristol Channel.
Situated on the western edge of Cardiff at the top of the Tumble above Culverhouse Cross, the Cardiff & The Vale Burial Ground has superb views with glimpses of the Millennium Stadium, St Fagans, Castell Coch, Caerphilly, the Garth Mountain and beyond.
The meadow is part of the picturesque parkland that forms Coedarhydyglyn Park; a historic designed landscape with Grade II* Listed status. Cardiff & The Vale Natural Burial Meadow offers simple burials in countryside that provides thriving habitats for wildflowers and wildlife.
It is a very special place preserving the idyllic rural beauty with a wonderfully natural character.
Our custodian Annabelle Traherne looks after the burial meadow. Annabelle will be happy to meet you and show you the burial ground, to walk you round and talk about what works well. She will also be there on the day of the funeral. She and her husband Rhodri take great pride in ensuring that the meadow is maintained to the highest standard at all times.
