About Atlantic Rest Natural Burial

At Atlantic Rest Natural Burial, there are two areas in which burials can take place in Penlow Field. The first is in the Wildflower Area at the top of the field, and the second is at the bottom of the field near the woodland.

Each Atlantic Rest burial is very different and is individually tailored to the requirements of the family or the deceased’s wishes. Outdoor ceremonies can be held at the graveside and can be conducted by a celebrant, religious minister or family member – anyone is welcome.

Some families choose to tell the story of their loved one’s life; some bring along music to play and poetry to read, and others bring along whiskey or (insert favourite drink here) and raise a toast. Many bring flowers to lay on the coffin. It really is down to the imagination of the family – as long as it’s legal and practical, it can be done!
