Hundy Mundy Woodland Burial Ground lies on the Scottish Borders just south of Mellerstain House, one of the Borders’ finest Georgian country houses.

About Hundy Mundy Woodland Burial Ground

Part of an historic designed landscape, Hundy Mundy Woodland Burial Ground overlooks the beautiful country house and countryside, while in the woodland sits the folly that gives the natural burial ground its name.

Hundy Mundy is a place rich in wildlife and history and the peaceful natural surroundings give families the time and space to do things their way. This may be bringing a bagpiper, the dogs or even the horses, using the event tent to have refreshments after the funeral or just having a simple burial sheltered by the woodland.

Our custodian Mary is there to help and can offer advice and arrange visits if you would like to have a look around before making any plans. Families who wish to have a memorial are welcome to have a slate plaque in our frame.

There is ample parking at the site and visitors can enjoy our permissive walk which is dog friendly. You might even spot some of our wildlife as you walk, like our common buzzards, which are wonderful to watch.
